Wiz to Acquire Dazz Security for $450M

Wiz, a leading provider of Cloud Native Application Protection Platforms (CNAPP), has announced the acquisition of Dazz Security in a groundbreaking deal valued at $450 million. This move represents a significant step in Wiz’s ongoing mission to revolutionize application security by offering advanced and effective protection solutions for organizations worldwide.

The acquisition strengthens Wiz’s position as a top player in the cybersecurity space, providing enterprises with an integrated platform that enhances security from code to cloud. By combining their expertise, Wiz and Dazz are poised to address a broader range of security challenges, ensuring their solutions meet the growing needs of businesses in an increasingly complex digital landscape.

Dazz Security is renowned for its expertise in Application Security Posture Management (ASPM) and its advanced remediation engine that enables organizations to effectively manage and mitigate application security risks. Dazz’s platform allows for the correlation of data from multiple sources, helping to identify vulnerabilities at their root.

This capability is critical for organizations seeking to stay ahead of evolving threats, as it enables security teams to prioritize and resolve issues quickly. By integrating Dazz’s platform with Wiz’s existing CNAPP solutions, the new combined offering will provide even more robust protection against potential vulnerabilities, ensuring businesses can maintain a strong security posture throughout their entire application lifecycle.

The acquisition is not just a business milestone but a personal one for Wiz’s CEO and co-founder, Assaf Rappaport. Rappaport and Dazz’s CEO, Merav Bahat, have a long history of collaboration dating back to their time at Microsoft, when Rappaport co-founded the cybersecurity company Adallom, which was later acquired by Microsoft. This shared history and mutual respect for each other’s work make the acquisition especially meaningful. Rappaport expressed his excitement about the acquisition, emphasizing that both companies have always believed in the potential for disruption in the cybersecurity industry. He welcomed Dazz into Wiz with the intention of continuing their journey to transform application security on a global scale.

The integration of Dazz’s technology into Wiz’s platform also represents a significant advancement in bridging the gap between security and engineering teams. One of the core goals of this acquisition is to foster collaboration between security professionals and developers, streamlining the process of identifying, mitigating, and resolving security issues.

By combining Wiz’s graph-based risk detection with Dazz’s remediation capabilities, the unified platform will allow organizations to respond swiftly and effectively to threats. This proactive approach ensures that security measures are seamlessly woven into the development process, enabling businesses to secure their cloud-native applications in real time. Ultimately, this acquisition marks the beginning of a new era for application security, one in which rapid and efficient remediation is a priority for every organization.
