Singapore Poh Heng Jewelry Breached

Poh Heng Jewellery in Singapore has informed its customers about a recent database breach discovered on March 25th. The breach may have compromised customers’ personal information, although no passwords or payment details were leaked. Upon detecting the breach, the company took immediate action to secure its systems and reported the incident to the Personal Data Protection Commission and Singapore Police Force.

Despite the breach, Poh Heng assured customers that no financial information was stored in their transactions and that there was no evidence of password access. However, customers were advised to monitor their accounts for any suspicious activity and remain cautious against phishing attempts. The company emphasized its commitment to data security and user privacy, stating that they are working with relevant experts to investigate the incident thoroughly.

In response to queries, Poh Heng’s data protection officer, Ezekiel Chin, explained that their immediate priority was securing the database and reporting the incident to authorities. While it took time to notify affected users, this allowed the company to communicate the steps taken to contain and resolve the situation effectively. Poh Heng’s website was temporarily offline for upgrades, reflecting their efforts to enhance data protection processes and safeguards against future breaches.
