Prouts Neck Community Organization recently disclosed a data security incident that may have exposed personal information of some individuals. On or around March 4, 2024, it was discovered that an unauthorized third party had potentially gained access to the organization’s computer systems. In response, Prouts Neck engaged its incident response team to manage the situation, including detection, containment, and recovery efforts.
The investigation revealed that personal data, including names, addresses, and Social Security numbers, might have been compromised. The organization has been working to assess the extent of the breach and continues to investigate the full impact on affected individuals.
To address the incident, Prouts Neck is offering affected individuals access to free credit monitoring services provided by Cyberscout, a TransUnion company. These services include alerts for changes to credit files, which will be available for enrollment within ninety days from the date of the notification letter.
In the meantime, Prouts Neck advises individuals to remain vigilant by reviewing account statements and monitoring credit reports for any unusual activity. The organization emphasizes the importance of enrolling in the credit monitoring services to help protect against potential misuse of personal information.
