Panoramic Financial Management has notified individuals of a data security incident that may have compromised personal information. Under Massachusetts law, affected individuals have the right to access police reports related to the incident and to file their own reports if they experience identity theft. Additionally, consumers can place a security freeze on their credit reports to prevent unauthorized access.
To request a security freeze, individuals must send a written request to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion, including personal identification details such as a Social Security number, date of birth, and proof of address. The consumer reporting agencies are required to act on the request within three business days and provide a unique PIN or password to manage the freeze.
Placing a security freeze may delay or interfere with the approval of new loans, credit, mortgages, or other services, as it restricts access to credit reports without written authorization. To lift or remove the freeze, individuals need to contact the agencies with their PIN and identification details.
Panoramic Financial Management has outlined the process for placing, lifting, and removing a security freeze to help protect affected individuals’ personal information. No fee is required for these services, and the agencies must act within specified timeframes to address requests.
