Northamber PLC has announced the acquisition of a 59.1% stake in Renaissance Contingency Services Ltd, a prominent Irish value-add cybersecurity distributor. This move represents a significant step in Northamber’s strategy to enhance its footprint in cybersecurity, following its earlier acquisition of Tempura Communications Ltd in April 2024. The company aims to solidify its position across key technology areas, including audio-visual, unified communications, and cybersecurity solutions, through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.
The acquisition of Renaissance aligns with Northamber’s long-standing commitment to the cybersecurity sector, where it has operated for nearly thirty years. Renaissance is recognized for its strong reputation in Ireland, boasting a loyal customer base and a robust vendor portfolio that includes industry leaders like Alludo and Proofpoint. This partnership is expected to expand Northamber’s cybersecurity reach in Ireland and enhance its offerings to partners and clients.
Alex Phillips, Executive Chairman of Northamber, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting the strong alignment between the two companies’ values and approaches. He looks forward to collaborating with Renaissance’s Managing Director, Michael Conway, to further develop the business in Ireland. Conway noted that being part of Northamber would help Renaissance achieve its growth ambitions and enhance its value to clients and vendors through increased capability and scale.
Despite the acquisition, there will be no changes to the day-to-day management or operations of Renaissance. The existing management team will remain in place, ensuring continuity and stability as they work to deliver advanced cybersecurity solutions. Northamber’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of Renaissance’s operations demonstrates its dedication to providing ongoing support to partners and clients in the cybersecurity landscape.
