Skybox Security Shuts Down and Sells Assets

NinjaOne, a Texas-based startup specializing in automated endpoint management, has secured $500 million in Series C extensions, raising the company’s valuation to $5 billion. This funding round was led by ICONIQ Growth and CapitalG, the independent investment arm of Alphabet. The successful round highlights investor confidence in technologies aimed at optimizing IT operations and device management, areas in which NinjaOne excels. The company intends to use the new funds for advancing its autonomous endpoint management solutions, including capabilities like automated patching and vulnerability remediation.

Alongside its commitment to improving its product offerings, NinjaOne will also use the funds to support its upcoming acquisition of Dropsuite, an Australian company specializing in cloud data backup, archiving, and recovery security software. This acquisition is valued at $252 million and is expected to complement NinjaOne’s existing suite of IT management tools, broadening its portfolio of services. The company’s business remains founder-led, with no debt, ensuring full control stays with the original team.

NinjaOne provides a suite of tools that simplifies endpoint management across various environments, including Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile operating systems.

The company’s platform allows IT teams to have centralized monitoring and remote control over all devices within an organization’s fleet. This level of control is crucial for maintaining visibility and ensuring the smooth operation of devices, which can otherwise be fragmented and complex to manage across multiple systems.

The company’s solutions offer real-time monitoring, customizable alerts, and remote support, allowing IT technicians to troubleshoot and deploy updates more efficiently. One of the standout features of NinjaOne’s offerings is its automated patch management system, which handles updates for both operating systems and third-party applications. Additionally, the integrated scripting engine facilitates the automation of routine IT tasks, helping organizations manage their devices with greater ease and efficiency.
