The breach was discovered by Jagadish Prasad Joshi, the Information Officer at the Office, who promptly reported it to the Department of Information Technology in Kathmandu. Efforts were immediately initiated to recover the compromised site.
The hacking group identified themselves as “Captain Smoker 3R” and left a message on the website. As of Saturday morning, the website remained inaccessible and had not been restored. The nature of the breach and the extent of the damage are still under investigation.
