Coppel Confirms Security Incident

Coppel, a prominent retail chain, recently confirmed a cybersecurity incident within its systems. The company quickly activated all necessary protection protocols to safeguard the data of customers, employees, and suppliers. Despite the cyber incident, Coppel reassured the public that there has been no evidence of data theft or information compromise from their systems. The prompt activation of security measures helped contain the incident without any significant data breaches.

Furthermore, the company clarified that the cybersecurity incident did not impact BanCoppel, its banking division. BanCoppel operates independently and has continued to serve its customers as usual through its branches, mobile app, and ATM network. This separation of operations ensured that banking services remained unaffected, providing reassurance to customers about the security and reliability of their financial transactions and services.

Coppel stores also continued their operations normally, maintaining regular business hours and customer service. This continuity in service demonstrates Coppel’s resilience and preparedness in managing cybersecurity threats, minimizing disruption to its retail operations.

Lastly, Afore Coppel, associated with pension management, experienced some disruptions due to the incident and is in the process of restoring its customer service functionalities. The system failures at Afore Coppel caused some uncertainty among its clients, prompting a swift response to restore services and reassure customers. The ongoing recovery efforts highlight the challenges businesses face in maintaining continuous service in the wake of cybersecurity incidents and underline the importance of robust IT infrastructure and incident response strategies.
