ConnectWise has announced its acquisition of SkyKick, a leading provider of cloud backup and management software. This move significantly strengthens ConnectWise’s cybersecurity and data protection portfolio, reinforcing its commitment to offering comprehensive solutions for managed service providers (MSPs). The acquisition of SkyKick enhances ConnectWise’s ability to safeguard client data, particularly against growing threats such as ransomware and phishing.

SkyKick’s cloud backup solutions, including its Microsoft 365 Cloud Backup, are now integrated into the ConnectWise platform, offering MSPs advanced tools to protect and manage their clients’ data. The integration will streamline operations for MSPs by combining SkyKick’s offerings with ConnectWise’s broader suite of solutions, which includes professional services automation (PSA), remote monitoring and management (RMM), and more.

ConnectWise’s CEO, Jason Magee, emphasized that the addition of SkyKick aligns with the company’s goal of providing MSPs with a complete technology stack to improve data protection and business efficiency. By combining SkyKick’s innovative products with ConnectWise’s existing cybersecurity solutions, the company aims to give MSPs the confidence to safeguard their clients and scale their businesses effectively.

SkyKick’s co-CEOs, Todd Schwartz and Evan Richman, expressed excitement about the opportunity to continue their mission to help MSPs build successful cloud businesses. With the integration of SkyKick, ConnectWise is poised to offer even stronger data protection and security solutions, enabling MSPs to better protect their customers’ data and applications across various cloud platforms.
