Vasinda’s Around the Clock Care, doing business as ATC Home Care in California, has notified 3,785 individuals of a computer intrusion discovered on June 18, 2024. A forensic investigation revealed that an unauthorized party had accessed the company’s network for nearly five months. The breach began on January 30, 2024, and lasted until the day it was detected. During this time, sensitive files were copied from its systems, raising concerns over compromised patient data.
The compromised data includes a wide range of personal information such as names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and health insurance details. Additionally, medical information, including diagnoses, lab results, medications, and treatment details, was also exposed. The affected individuals were either patients of ATC Home Care or clients of the payee organization. The breach underscores the seriousness of the compromised data, especially given the nature of the information involved.
In response to the security incident, ATC Home Care has reviewed and updated its internal policies and procedures to prevent future breaches. The company is also assessing new cybersecurity tools to better protect its network from similar attacks. These efforts are aimed at strengthening the organization’s defenses and mitigating the risk of unauthorized access moving forward.
To assist those affected, ATC Home Care is offering complimentary credit monitoring services for 12 months. This proactive step is intended to help individuals monitor their financial and personal data for any potential misuse. The company continues to address the situation while ensuring that improvements to its cybersecurity framework are fully implemented.
