Salam Technology has announced a significant partnership with ZENDATA, a Swiss cybersecurity firm, in a deal valued at $35 million aimed at enhancing cybersecurity services for businesses across Qatar and the Gulf region. This five-year agreement enables Salam Technology to leverage ZENDATA’s advanced technology and expertise, facilitating the establishment of a top-tier Security Operations Center (SOC) in Qatar. The partnership is designed to elevate the cyber maturity of local companies in various sectors, including financial services and oil and gas, while creating job opportunities for Qatari and Gulf nationals in the burgeoning cybersecurity landscape.

As part of this collaboration, Salam Technology will gain access to a highly skilled Incident Response Team, international cyber consultants, and unique cyber Intellectual Property developed by ZENDATA since its inception in 2012. This arrangement not only strengthens the cybersecurity posture of local firms but also introduces ZENDATA’s innovative ‘SOC as a Business’ model. This model is aimed at transforming traditional SOCs into revenue-generating entities by partnering with companies to develop customized SOC solutions that leverage shared or exclusive resources for enhanced security.

Fawaz Hadid, the General Manager of Salam Technology, expressed the importance of this partnership in providing state-of-the-art cybersecurity services tailored to the needs of the region. He emphasized the long-standing commitment of Salam Technology to serve Qatar and the Gulf, stating that combining ZENDATA’s advanced technology with Salam’s established presence would create exceptional Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) services. The partnership is viewed as a pivotal moment not only for technological advancement but also for fostering a skilled local workforce that can support the cybersecurity needs of the region.

Isabelle Meyer, Co-CEO of ZENDATA, reinforced the collaborative goal of protecting the growing services industry and critical infrastructure in Qatar and the wider Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Meyer noted that ZENDATA’s experience in working with governments and multinational corporations uniquely positions the company to support regional clients amidst a complex cybersecurity threat landscape. As this partnership progresses, both Salam Technology and ZENDATA aim to enhance regional security efforts, contributing to a more resilient digital environment for businesses across the Gulf.
