ZeroTier Raises $13.5M in Series A Funding

ZeroTier, a prominent player in the virtual networking sector, has announced the successful closure of a $13.5 million Series A funding round, spearheaded by Battery Ventures. The latest funding round also saw participation from notable investors including 7percent Ventures, Airbridge Equity Partners, Anorak Ventures, Bonfire Ventures, First In Ventures, and Grand Enterprises B.V. This investment brings ZeroTier’s total funding to approximately $16 million, highlighting strong investor confidence in the company’s growth and innovation potential.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Irvine, California, ZeroTier specializes in providing secure, scalable virtual networking solutions. The company’s platform is designed to seamlessly connect devices across a global network, allowing organizations to create private, secure networks regardless of the devices’ locations. With a focus on IoT deployments, ZeroTier’s technology enables two-way connections, end-to-end encryption, and centralized security monitoring, catering to a diverse range of industries including aerospace, defense, manufacturing, and telecommunications.

The newly acquired funds will be directed towards accelerating innovation and product development, as well as expanding ZeroTier’s operations into new markets. The company’s network already supports over three million connected devices across more than 230 countries and territories, underscoring its significant role in the rapidly evolving landscape of global device connectivity. ZeroTier’s solution is increasingly vital as the number of Internet-connected devices continues to surge, outnumbering humans by threefold.

ZeroTier CEO Andrew Gault emphasized the importance of the company’s mission, stating, “With Internet-connected devices outnumbering humans by a factor of three, the need for secure connectivity between devices is skyrocketing. ZeroTier lives at the crux of this market need, creating global private networks that easily connect devices directly to each other, no matter where they are in the world.” This funding marks a pivotal step in ZeroTier’s ongoing efforts to address the growing demand for robust and secure virtual networking solutions.
