Microsoft has rolled out the KB5034848 Preview cumulative update for Windows 11, an optional update designed for testing upcoming features before the March Patch Tuesday. This update includes USB 80Gbps support, a next-gen standard with twice the bandwidth of USB 40Gbps. In addition to the USB enhancement, the update brings notable changes, such as a revamped Phone Link settings page, enabling users to manage mobile devices easily. It also introduces the ability to edit recent photos and screenshots from Android devices using the Snipping Tool on PC.
The KB5034848 update encompasses a total of twenty fixes, changes, and new features for Windows 11. Notable improvements include addressing issues with long-edge fed printers, resolving problems with the Windows Settings Home page, and fixing issues related to networking and system sleep. However, it comes with a known issue where devices attempting to install the February 2024 security update (KB5034765) may face installation failures and system unresponsiveness at 96%. Microsoft suggests a solution involving the deletion of the hidden C:$WinREAgent folder to resolve this issue.
