WellLife Network recently confirmed a data breach that may have exposed sensitive personal and health information of individuals in its systems. The breach, which occurred between August 26, 2023, and September 7, 2023, involved unauthorized access to WellLife’s network, potentially compromising personal identifiable information (PII) such as names, Social Security numbers, addresses, and medical data. On August 29, 2024, WellLife posted a breach notice on its website and mailed notification letters to those affected.
In response to the breach, WellLife launched an internal investigation to identify the nature of the incident and determine which data was accessed. The investigation revealed that a variety of personal information had been potentially exposed, including government-issued identification numbers, health insurance details, and financial condition information. WellLife has taken precautionary steps by offering 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services to affected individuals.
