US Conservative News Websites Hacked

Two prominent conservative news websites, Human Events and The Post Millennial, found themselves at the center of a malicious cyber attack, resulting in compromised platforms and the alarming exposure of private information. Hackers managed to breach the websites’ security measures, effectively replacing their content with a fabricated coming-out letter allegedly authored by Post Millennial’s senior editor, Andy Ngo. The letter, purportedly announcing a transgender identity under the name Angelina Ngo, not only shocked readers but also served as a disturbing prelude to the hackers’ sinister intentions.

What followed was a chilling conclusion to the letter, wherein the hackers brazenly proclaimed their unauthorized access to the websites’ inner workings, including mailing lists, subscriber databases, and the personal details of writers and editors. The gravity of the breach was further underscored by the swift response of the websites’ management, as the official Twitter accounts for both Human Events and The Post Millennial were promptly made private. However, the motive behind this action remains shrouded in uncertainty, leaving lingering questions about the extent of the hackers’ control over the platforms.

As the cyber attack unfolded, users attempting to access the compromised websites were met with a temporary page bearing the message “SITE UNDER MAINTENANCE… Sorry for any inconvenience.” This move signaled an urgent effort by the websites’ administrators to contain the breach and restore normalcy to their operations. Yet, amidst the chaos, there has been a conspicuous silence from key figures within the affected organizations. Neither Andy Ngo nor Libby Emmons, the editor-in-chief of both Post Millennial and Human Events, have issued statements addressing the breach, leaving observers and readers in a state of disquiet.

The fallout from this unprecedented breach extends beyond the realm of cybersecurity, casting a shadow of doubt over the integrity of conservative news outlets and the safety of their digital platforms. The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the ever-present threat posed by cyber attacks and the urgent need for robust security measures to safeguard sensitive information. As the investigation into the breach continues and the affected parties grapple with its implications, one thing remains clear: the ramifications of this breach will reverberate throughout the conservative media landscape for the foreseeable future.
