A major cyber attack on January 25 disrupted the websites of Ukrainian TV channels «House» and «FreeHouse», as reported by the state-owned enterprise «Multimedia platform of the innovation of Ukraine». The attack, targeting one of the data centers, resulted in the temporary unavailability of the TV channels’ sites and interruptions in the operation of «FreeHome», a digital news aggregator. While technical teams are actively addressing the issue, users experience access with no updates on «FreeHome», while «House» and «FreeHome» remain temporarily inaccessible.
Despite the website issues, the broadcast of TV channels «FreeHouse» and «House», along with the operation of YouTube channels and social media platforms, continues without interruption. The Gaze, another resource, also remains functional. However, the broader impact of cyber threats extends beyond media, affecting national entities like the gas supply company «Naftogas of Ukraine», postal service «Ukrposta», and security agency «Ukrtranssecurity», all reporting technical failures due to cyber attacks on their IT systems on the morning of January 25.
The cyber threat landscape in Ukraine intensifies, as evidenced by a powerful DDoS attack on the «Ukrainian truth» website and a recent cyberattack on Monobank in the previous week. These incidents highlight the widespread nature of cyber threats targeting various sectors in the country, prompting increased vigilance and security measures across industries.
