Terry Town Hit by Ransomware Attack

Terry Town, a promotional products supplier located in San Diego, experienced a severe cyberbreach on July 15, which has significantly disrupted its operations. The breach, confirmed to be a ransomware attack, has rendered the company’s systems inaccessible for essential functions such as checking order status, shipping, and processing orders. While the company still has access to email and phones, these tools are insufficient to manage its core operations.

Esmeralda Anaya, the marketing manager at Terry Town, detailed the company’s response to the attack. She confirmed that Terry Town is actively working through its contingency plan to address the crisis. Despite initial hopes to resolve the issue by July 16, the situation has proven more complex, and the company now anticipates that it will need additional time to fully restore its operations. Authorities are involved in the investigation, and the company is making every effort to minimize the disruption caused by the attack.

In the meantime, customers have been advised to use email to contact Terry Town for any urgent questions or concerns, as access to order information is currently limited. Anaya noted that the breach likely occurred over the weekend, but specific details about how the attack was carried out are not yet available. The company has chosen not to engage with the hackers, focusing instead on mitigating the damage and restoring system functionality.

Although Terry Town initially hoped to have its systems back online by July 16, it is now clear that the recovery process will extend beyond that date. The company is working diligently to overcome the challenges posed by the ransomware attack and aims to return to full operational status as soon as possible. The ongoing efforts highlight the severity of the situation and the commitment of Terry Town to resolving the issue while keeping customers informed.
