Telenor Cyberdefence Acquires Combitech

Telenor Cyberdefence has acquired the Norwegian operations of the Swedish security company Combitech, enhancing its capabilities in the cybersecurity sector. This move comes shortly after Telenor established Telenor Cyberdefence, signaling a strategic effort to strengthen its position in the market. The specifics of the transaction were not disclosed, but the integration aims to leverage Combitech’s expertise to better address the evolving cybersecurity landscape.

Anders Thulin Røkke, CEO of Combitech, will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer at Telenor Cyberdefence following the acquisition. With a team of over 20 employees based in Oslo, Combitech specializes in security consulting, penetration testing, and cloud-based monitoring and response services. This addition will allow Telenor Cyberdefence to expand its service offerings and enhance its overall expertise in security solutions.

The collaboration between Telenor Cyberdefence and Combitech aims to create a stronger security environment in Norway. Røkke expressed confidence that the merger would enable the combined teams to deliver improved security services to customers in light of the constantly changing threat landscape. By joining forces, both companies are positioned to provide more comprehensive support and protection to their clients.

This acquisition reflects Telenor Cyberdefence’s commitment to building a robust cybersecurity presence in Norway. With Combitech’s established reputation and skilled workforce, Telenor aims to enhance its capabilities and broaden its customer base. Together, they plan to tackle the increasing challenges of cybersecurity and ensure that clients receive top-notch security services and support.
