TAAG Reports Cyberattack on Local Servers

On September 16, 2024, Angolan airline TAAG reported that its infrastructure had been targeted by a cyberattack. The attack affected some local servers, but the company emphasized that it did not impact its operations. Despite the disruption to some services, TAAG continued to comply with national and international air regulations and assured customers that flight schedules and essential services were not interrupted.

In response to the incident, TAAG activated its contingency plan, focusing on maintaining the continuity of operations. The company’s information technology department quickly began working to restore the affected services, which were primarily based on local servers. While specific services impacted by the cyberattack were not disclosed, the airline reassured the public that essential systems, such as flight bookings and ticket issuance, remained functional.

The airline highlighted that, despite the cyberattack, the company was able to maintain its general flight schedule and provide necessary services. The operational integrity of the airline remained intact, and passengers were not affected by the disruptions caused by the attack. The company emphasized that all measures were being taken to ensure that service would return to full normalcy as quickly as possible.

TAAG has reported the cyberattack to the relevant authorities, adhering to the required procedures. As the situation continues to be investigated, the company remains focused on minimizing any further disruption to its services. The airline also reassured its customers that it was taking all necessary steps to secure its infrastructure and prevent future incidents.
