Sword Acquires IACS for Cybersecurity Boost

Sword has announced its acquisition of IACS Consulting, a respected provider of cyber security services for industrial automation systems. Based in Aberdeen, IACS specializes in consultancy and solutions for Operational Technology (OT) environments, helping organizations meet regulatory and legal requirements using recognized global standards. This acquisition aims to integrate IACS into Sword’s Digital Platform division, enhancing expertise in cyber security solutions for critical national infrastructure.

Kevin Moreton, CEO of Sword UK, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming the IACS team, emphasizing that this acquisition underscores Sword’s commitment to securing top-tier technology and domain expertise. He noted the significant synergies between the two companies, highlighting their complementary solutions and shared approaches to customer engagement. The collaboration is expected to enrich Sword’s offerings and drive the growth of IACS Consulting.

Scott Keenon, Director at IACS Consulting, conveyed confidence that the merger will significantly expand their capabilities in OT and cyber security. He believes that their combined strengths will position them as a global leader within the critical national infrastructure sector. The partnership is seen as an opportunity to further develop innovative solutions that meet the needs of organizations in this space.

Sword, which provides business technology solutions to various sectors including energy and finance, employs over 600 people across locations in the UK. By integrating IACS Consulting, Sword aims to enhance its service offerings and maintain its competitive edge in the evolving cyber security landscape. This acquisition not only accelerates IACS’s growth plans but also adds valuable expertise to the Sword Group.
