StarsX Team’s Allegedly Hit Indian Gov

The StarsX Team hacker group has boldly claimed responsibility for an alleged cyberattack on Indian government websites, making their announcement on a dark web forum and providing links to support their assertions. The attached links included a list of supposed victims and references to check-host.net. Despite the threat actor’s affiliation with Indonesia, as indicated by the attached Indonesian flag, a closer inspection reveals that the mentioned government websites, such as the Department of Justice and High Court of Punjab and Haryana, are currently functioning normally, showing no signs of the Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack claimed by the group.

The claimed cyberattack specifically targeted five prominent government websites, including the Department of Justice, High Court of Punjab and Haryana, UP Police, Intellectual Property India, and the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation. However, there is no evidence of disruptions on these sites as suggested by the threat actor. A DDoS attack, as described in the text, involves overwhelming a targeted server, service, or network with a flood of internet traffic, and despite the group’s claims, the functionality of the mentioned websites remains unaffected.

The StarsX Team hacker group has a history of targeting multiple countries, as revealed in a previous post where they declared their intent to fight for Palestine’s right to independence. The group specifically identified Israel, India, France, and America as their main targets, condemning these countries for alleged oppression of the Palestinian people and human rights violations. This context suggests that the recent claim against Indian government websites may be part of the group’s broader geopolitical agenda and ongoing cyber activities.
