‘Soldiers of Solomon’ Hack Food Supply

November 7, 2023

in Incidents

Pro-Palestinian hackers belonging to the ‘Soldiers of Solomon’ group have announced a successful breach of Flour Mills Ltd’s production plant infrastructure. Flour Mills Ltd is a multinational company engaged in the processing and marketing of flour and related food products. The hackers claim to have inflicted damage on the production cycle, potentially disrupting the food supply chain.

Furthermore, the breach was publicized through a video shared on the group’s Telegram Channel, displaying screenshots from systems used to control the plant’s processes. This cyber attack on a vital component of the food supply chain highlights the potential consequences of such incidents on both the targeted company and the broader community it serves. The ‘Soldiers of Solomon’ group has been consistent in targeting Israeli organizations recently.

Additionally, they previously claimed responsibility for a cyber attack on the Ashalim Power Station, disconnecting it from the power distribution circuit. In another instance, the group gained control of over 50 servers, security cameras, and a smart city management system in the Nevatim military area. They reported exfiltrating 25TB of data and using their custom Crucio ransomware for extortion.

These attacks emphasize the persistent threats posed by hacktivist groups and the need for organizations to bolster their cybersecurity defenses, especially in critical infrastructure sectors. The disruption of food production processes raises concerns about the security of supply chains and underscores the importance of heightened vigilance and security measures to safeguard essential systems against potential disruptions.
