SA-TECH Hit With Data Security Incident

Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) has announced a recent security incident that could potentially compromise the personal information of some individuals. The company first detected suspicious activity within its network on March 26, 2024, prompting an immediate investigation supported by leading cybersecurity specialists. This investigation uncovered unauthorized access to specific files and folders between March 20 and March 26, 2024. SA-TECH took proactive steps to assess the situation and review the contents of the affected files to determine the nature of the information involved.

Upon completion of the review, SA-TECH identified that sensitive information—including names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account information, passport numbers, health information, and dates of birth—was accessed. Although the company has not found any evidence of identity theft or fraud resulting from this incident, it is treating the matter with the utmost seriousness. The organization has initiated an internal reconciliation and validation effort to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the potential impact on affected individuals.

In response to the incident, SA-TECH has undertaken several measures to enhance the security of its systems and protect the information it manages. This includes assessing system vulnerabilities, reviewing relevant data, and notifying impacted individuals for whom the company has contact information. As part of its commitment to safeguarding personal information, SA-TECH is also reviewing its policies and procedures to mitigate the risk of similar incidents in the future. The company has pledged to inform regulatory authorities where necessary and is prioritizing the safety of its clients’ data.

SA-TECH encourages affected individuals to remain vigilant against potential identity theft and fraud by monitoring their account statements and reviewing free credit reports for any suspicious activity. In addition, the company is offering complimentary credit monitoring services to those impacted. For further assistance, individuals can contact SA-TECH’s toll-free hotline, available Monday through Friday, or visit the company’s website for additional resources. This proactive approach underscores SA-TECH’s commitment to transparency and the protection of personal information in the wake of a security incident.
