Rogers Foam Corporation Suffers Breach

Rogers Foam Corporation (RFC) has announced a data security incident that may have exposed sensitive personal information of its customers, including names and Social Security numbers. The breach was detected on September 23, 2024, when RFC identified suspicious activity within its network. In response, the company promptly secured its systems and engaged a specialized cybersecurity firm to conduct a thorough investigation into the nature and scope of the incident. By October 15, RFC confirmed that unauthorized access had occurred, prompting the company to notify affected individuals as part of its commitment to transparency.

The compromised data potentially included names and Social Security numbers, raising concerns about the risk of identity theft and fraud. RFC emphasized that protecting personal information is a top priority and has implemented measures to strengthen its data security infrastructure moving forward. The company is taking significant steps to ensure that similar incidents do not occur in the future, reinforcing its dedication to safeguarding customer information and restoring confidence in its security practices.

To support those impacted by the breach, RFC is offering affected individuals complimentary access to credit monitoring services for a period of 24 months. This service will provide alerts for changes to credit files, enabling customers to stay informed and take proactive steps in monitoring their financial health. RFC encourages individuals to take advantage of these services and remain vigilant against identity theft by reviewing their account statements and monitoring credit reports for any suspicious activity.

In light of this incident, RFC advises customers to contact their financial institutions and major credit bureaus to inform them of the breach and take appropriate measures to protect their interests, such as placing a fraud alert on their credit files. The company has also provided resources and guidelines for individuals to safeguard against the potential misuse of their personal information. RFC remains committed to enhancing its security protocols and working closely with customers to ensure their ongoing protection.
