Riverside Resort Hit With Data Breach

Riverside Resort & Casino has issued a notice about a recent data security breach that occurred on July 25, 2024. The breach, discovered through suspicious activity, involved unauthorized access to personal data, including names and Social Security numbers. The resort promptly engaged cybersecurity experts to investigate and address the issue, leading to the identification of potentially impacted individuals. While no instances of fraud or identity theft have been confirmed as of now, Riverside has acted swiftly to mitigate the situation.

The compromised data includes sensitive personal information, which Riverside identified through an extensive review of affected files. To ensure the protection of their customers, Riverside has implemented several measures, including disabling relevant accounts and collaborating with third-party specialists to secure their environment. They have also notified the individuals potentially affected by the breach and offered them complimentary credit monitoring services.

As part of their commitment to safeguarding customer information, Riverside is providing affected individuals with access to credit monitoring services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company. These services include monitoring alerts for 12 months, aimed at detecting any changes or suspicious activities related to their credit files. Riverside is also offering fraud assistance to help individuals with any related issues or questions.

Customers are encouraged to remain vigilant against potential identity theft and to review their account statements and credit reports regularly. Additionally, Riverside advises contacting financial institutions and major credit bureaus to place fraud alerts if necessary. For further assistance or to enroll in the credit monitoring services, individuals should visit the provided link and use the unique code included in their notification letter.
