Resilience, a prominent cyber insurance startup, has made a strategic move by acquiring BreachQuest, a cybersecurity company based in Texas. Specializing in incident response solutions, BreachQuest’s platform is designed to seamlessly integrate into cloud office systems, providing valuable retrospective incident forensics. This acquisition aims to empower Resilience in speeding up incident response efforts, reducing containment time, and ultimately lowering the overall costs associated with cybersecurity incidents.
Launched officially in August 2021, BreachQuest had publicly disclosed funding of $4.4 million but experienced a workforce decline, dropping from approximately 40 employees in February 2022 to around 9 employees currently. Despite this, Resilience sees great potential in BreachQuest’s technology. Vishaal “V8” Hariprasad, co-founder, and CEO at Resilience highlighted the importance of addressing the evolving cyber threat landscape, especially with the addition of tools like generative AI in the hands of cybercriminals. The acquisition aims to leverage BreachQuest’s proven capabilities to enhance Resilience’s cyber risk management software.
Shaun Gordon, co-founder, and CEO of BreachQuest expressed excitement about the integration, emphasizing the shared mission with Resilience in improving clients’ cyber resilience and mitigating the impact of cyber incidents. Tim Riley, SVP of Business Development, highlighted the synergy between BreachQuest’s cutting-edge platform and Resilience’s proactive incident management approach, providing clients with the speed, skill, and automation necessary to minimize the financial impact of cybersecurity threats.
