RAD Security, based in San Francisco, CA, has secured $14 million in Series A funding to expand its AI-driven defense platform. The funding round was led by Cheyenne Ventures, with participation from Forgepoint Capital, Lytical Ventures, Akamai, and existing investors such as .406 Ventures, Vertex Ventures, and Gula Tech Adventures. This investment will help the company enhance its technology and continue its mission of securing cloud-focused infrastructure, particularly as enterprises increasingly rely on AI and cloud services for their operations.

The company’s platform, which includes the battle-tested Cloud Detection and Response (CDR) solution, aims to bolster security by incorporating advanced AI-driven technologies. RAD Security intends to use the funds to improve its ability to ensure cloud and AI deployments remain secure and compliant as they scale and adapt. The company’s AI solutions allow customers to analyze data from multiple sources, query security tools, and quickly resolve threats, helping to reduce the mean time to resolution (MTTR) significantly.

RAD Security’s AI-driven platform offers a range of features designed to address emerging security challenges. One of its key capabilities is security for AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), which includes monitoring and detecting threats such as shadow AI, data exfiltration, and prompt injection attacks. Additionally, the platform improves operational efficiency for security teams, empowering vulnerability management and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) teams to respond faster and more effectively to emerging threats.

The company’s Cloud Detection and Response system also establishes behavioral baselines to detect deviations that could indicate malicious activity or insider threats. By leveraging runtime security and fingerprinting techniques, RAD Security helps enterprises detect unauthorized access, data exfiltration, and other anomalies across cloud and AI workloads. This comprehensive security solution is aimed at ensuring businesses can safely leverage AI technologies while minimizing the risk of cyber threats and maintaining operational efficiency.
