OPSWAT, a leader in critical infrastructure protection cybersecurity solutions, has announced the acquisition of InQuest, a cybersecurity provider recognized for its innovative Deep File Inspection and RetroHunting technologies. This acquisition comes as part of OPSWAT’s strategy to enhance its offerings in the federal market, particularly for customers like the Department of Defense, where InQuest has established a solid reputation for protecting critical networks with its advanced network appliances and threat intelligence solutions. The partnership between OPSWAT and InQuest dates back to 2013, when their technologies were first integrated to serve a joint customer at the Pentagon.
The integration of InQuest’s threat intelligence capabilities with OPSWAT’s MetaDefender Cloud and FileScan.io will create a comprehensive repository for enhanced intelligence capabilities. By merging these technologies, OPSWAT aims to accelerate its go-to-market strategy and improve protection against network-based threats, benefiting both OPSWAT and InQuest customers with superior Network Detection and Response (NDR) capabilities. This move is expected to bolster the efficacy of threat intelligence and prevention, allowing federal organizations and other critical sectors to operate more securely.
Benny Czarny, CEO and Founder of OPSWAT, expressed excitement about the acquisition, highlighting the potential for increased efficacy in threat prevention and intelligence through the combination of both companies’ technologies. As part of the leadership transition, Pedram Amini, former CTO of InQuest, will join OPSWAT’s leadership team as Chief Scientist, focusing on advancements in threat intelligence, machine learning, and email security. Amini’s previous experience in launching InQuest Labs will be instrumental in driving innovation within OPSWAT, as he aims to integrate the InQuest Labs community with OPSWAT’s existing platforms. This acquisition not only strengthens OPSWAT’s capabilities but also empowers researchers globally in the fight against malware and evolving cyber threats.
