Ohio’s Elyria Foundry Hit With Data Breach

Elyria Foundry Holdings LLC has issued a notice regarding a data privacy event that impacted its Elyria and Hodge Foundry locations. On June 25, 2024, the company detected suspicious activity on its network, prompting an immediate response to secure its systems. The investigation revealed that unauthorized access occurred between June 24 and June 25, during which certain files were viewed or copied. While there is no evidence of misuse or fraud, the incident has affected personal information, including names and Social Security numbers of current and former employees, along with their spouses and dependents.

In response to the breach, Elyria Foundry has taken steps to enhance its network security and prevent future incidents. The company has already had advanced security measures in place, but additional improvements have been implemented following the discovery of the breach. Despite the absence of evidence of identity theft or fraud, Elyria Foundry is advising individuals to stay vigilant by monitoring their financial accounts and credit reports for any signs of suspicious activity.

Individuals who did not receive a notification but believe they may be affected are encouraged to contact Elyria Foundry’s dedicated assistance line for support. The company has also provided guidance on protecting personal information, including options to place fraud alerts or credit freezes. These measures can help individuals safeguard their information and prevent unauthorized access to their credit reports.

For further assistance or questions, Elyria Foundry has established a dedicated helpline available during business hours. The company remains committed to addressing any concerns and ensuring that affected individuals have access to resources to help protect their personal information. As the situation evolves, Elyria Foundry will continue to provide updates and support to its employees and other potentially impacted parties.
