Niobium Secures $5.5M for FHE Expansion

Niobium, a leader in custom silicon for Zero Trust Computing, has successfully closed a $5.5 million seed funding round aimed at advancing its innovative Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) hardware accelerator. This funding round not only marks a significant step towards Niobium’s growth but also includes the expansion of its Board of Directors, enhancing strategic leadership capabilities.

The company’s FHE hardware accelerator is designed to enable computing on encrypted data, ensuring robust data privacy without compromising computational integrity. Developed as a PCIe card based on Niobium’s System on a Chip (SoC), this solution promises up to four orders of magnitude faster performance for FHE applications, making it suitable for a wide range of secure data processing needs.

Niobium, originating from Galois and leveraging significant federal support, has assembled a team of top cryptography experts and chip designers. Their goal is to commercialize advanced cryptographic solutions that empower businesses to analyze sensitive data securely across various sectors, including healthcare, finance, and digital advertising.

With plans to launch an Early Access Program (NEAP) and expand their software engineering team, Niobium is poised to demonstrate and deploy their FHE accelerator chip by Q4 2024. This initiative aims to revolutionize data privacy practices and pave the way for confidential computing applications globally.
