MSX International Data Breach

On July 20, 2023, MSX International Inc. reported a data breach to the Attorney General of Maine, revealing that an unauthorized party gained access to and potentially removed confidential consumer data stored on the company’s computer network. The breach exposed sensitive information, including names and Social Security numbers, affecting numerous individuals.

Following an investigation, MSX International began sending out data breach notification letters to all affected parties to alert them about the security incident.

Furthermore, the breach presents significant risks to the affected individuals, as hackers can exploit sensitive information like Social Security numbers to commit identity theft and fraud.

To safeguard against potential repercussions, impacted consumers are advised to take precautionary measures and seek assistance from data breach lawyers to understand their legal options and protect themselves from further harm.

Additionally, the data breach at MSX International was discovered after suspicious activity was detected in the company’s IT network on February 6, 2023. In response, MSX International promptly removed the unauthorized access, informed law enforcement, and initiated an investigation with the help of third-party data security specialists. The investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party accessed certain MSX International systems between February 2, 2023, and February 6, 2023, potentially compromising confidential consumer information.

After identifying the breach, MSX International reviewed the compromised files to determine the extent of the leaked information and which consumers were impacted.

At the same time, on May 1, 2023, this review was completed, revealing that sensitive consumer data, including names and Social Security numbers, was accessible to the unauthorized party. Consequently, on July 20, 2023, MSX International sent out data breach notification letters to all individuals affected by the security incident.

MSX International Inc., based in Detroit, Michigan, is a prominent business services company providing technology and consulting services to the automotive industry worldwide. Operating in 60 offices and serving clients in 80 countries, the company plays a crucial role in various aspects of the automotive industry, generating significant annual revenue.
