Microsoft has announced plans to increase the accessibility of its AI-driven cybersecurity tool, Security Copilot, starting April 1. Originally soft-launched last year, Security Copilot facilitates cybersecurity professionals in performing tasks like incident summarization, vulnerability analysis, and collaborative information sharing through a user-friendly prompt box interface. Presently, around 300 customers are leveraging this tool, which Microsoft aims to make available on a ‘pay-as-you-go’ basis, eschewing traditional subscription models to reduce entry barriers for users.
Corporate Vice President Vasu Jakkal emphasized Microsoft’s strategic shift towards a usage-based pricing model, aiming to make Security Copilot more accessible to a broader range of cybersecurity professionals. This decision aligns with Microsoft’s broader mission to democratize access to advanced technologies and empower organizations in combating evolving cyber threats. By adopting a flexible payment approach and expanding the tool’s availability, Microsoft seeks to foster greater collaboration and efficiency within the cybersecurity community while bolstering its own position as a leader in AI-driven cybersecurity solutions.
