McArthurGlen Europe Investigates Cyberattack

In late July 2024, McArthurGlen Europe Inc. (MGE) experienced a cyberattack that compromised sensitive personal information belonging to certain individuals affiliated with the company. The breach specifically affected employees and investors, with compromised data including names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and passport numbers. In response to the attack, MGE collaborated with external cyber forensics experts and relevant authorities to secure its systems and investigate the incident thoroughly. While no fraudulent use of the data has been reported, the company has taken several measures to safeguard against future security risks.

McArthurGlen Europe issued a notice to affected individuals detailing the breach and offering steps to protect their personal information. The company emphasized the importance of privacy and privacy protection, and while it did not confirm whether all the exposed information was accessed, it warned that the compromised files could potentially be misused. MGE reassured affected individuals that it was taking prompt action to mitigate the damage by enhancing system security to prevent future incidents.

To further assist those impacted, McArthurGlen Europe offered a complimentary two-year membership to Experian’s IdentityWorks service. This service provides full-service identity detection and identity theft resolution. Affected individuals were encouraged to activate their memberships promptly through a provided activation code to start monitoring their personal information and minimize the risk of fraud.

McArthurGlen also encouraged affected individuals to remain vigilant by monitoring their financial accounts and credit reports for any signs of unusual or unauthorized activity. The company outlined steps to report any suspicious charges and provided contact information for the three major credit reporting agencies—Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. For those needing additional information or assistance, McArthurGlen Europe provided a contact number and physical address to help address any further concerns.
