By June 27, 2024, Manitou began notifying individuals whose data might have been exposed. The compromised data also included medical information, health insurance details, and financial information. The breach affected both Manitou Equipment America LLC and Manitou North America LLC.
Manitou, an international equipment brand founded in 1958, specializes in handling, lifting, and earthmoving solutions. The company, headquartered in Ancenis, France, operates with 800 dealers across 140 countries, offering products such as forklifts, telehandlers, and elevated work platforms.
Despite the breach, Manitou has taken steps to address the situation and notify affected individuals. The company’s focus remains on securing its systems and protecting customer information moving forward.
