Lumifi Cyber Acquires Netsurion for Growth

Lumifi Cyber Inc. has announced its acquisition of Netsurion, a provider specializing in managed extended detection and response (XDR). This strategic move aims to strengthen Lumifi’s security offerings through its U.S.-based security operations center and its proprietary SHIELDVision platform. The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, aligns with Lumifi’s goal to become a leader in the managed detection and response (MDR) space.

Founded in 2009 and based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Lumifi Cyber focuses on cybersecurity, rapid remediation, and threat response, with a team comprising U.S.-based analysts and former DoD security experts. Netsurion, also founded in 2009 and based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, brings significant expertise in managed detection and response, co-managed SIEM, threat hunting, compliance support, and advanced threat protection. The integration of Netsurion’s 241 employees and 400 new clients will bolster Lumifi’s capabilities and market reach.

This acquisition is Lumifi’s third since 2022 and its second in the past year, following the successful integration of Castra in October of last year. Lumifi’s CTO, David Norlin, emphasized the company’s commitment to leveraging proprietary technology and expanding its client base. The SHIELDVision platform, built on the Gartner Visibility Triad, will play a crucial role in enhancing Lumifi’s security operations.

With this acquisition, Lumifi Cyber is set to enhance its position in the cybersecurity industry. The combined expertise and resources from Netsurion and Lumifi’s existing framework will enable the company to offer more comprehensive and effective security solutions to its clients, reinforcing its strategic objective of becoming a leader in the MDR space.
