KinetX has reported a data breach to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, indicating that sensitive personal identifiable information may have been accessed. The incident came to light on or about August 2, 2024, when KinetX discovered that a data security incident had impacted its computer environment. While the breach notice did not elaborate on the specifics of the security incident, it raised concerns about unauthorized access to the company’s systems, highlighting the potential risks to individuals’ personal information.

The information that may have been compromised includes critical data such as names and Social Security numbers, which vary depending on the affected individuals. The notification letter sent to Massachusetts residents serves as a formal alert regarding the breach, underscoring the importance of transparency in such incidents. As a precautionary measure, KinetX is taking steps to address the breach and mitigate potential harm to the impacted individuals.

To assist those affected, KinetX has begun mailing data breach notification letters, informing them of the situation and providing necessary details regarding the breach. Additionally, the company is offering affected individuals 24 months of identity theft protection services to help safeguard their personal information moving forward. This initiative aims to support those whose sensitive data may have been compromised and to demonstrate KinetX’s commitment to protecting its customers.

KinetX, founded in 1992, is a privately held aerospace engineering company based in Temple, Arizona. It specializes in providing engineering, software, and hardware solutions across various industries, including aerospace, telecommunications, space navigation, and data analytics. KinetX is recognized for its design, development, and operation of large-scale space systems and is notably the first private company qualified by NASA for deep space navigation. With additional locations in California and Colorado, KinetX employs over 50 individuals, contributing to advancements in aerospace engineering and technology.
