Kent Building Supplies Data Breach Alert

On July 23, 2024, Kent Building Supplies notified its customers about a data breach involving a third-party software provider that supports transactions on their website. The breach, which occurred in July, targeted the software used for processing payments and may have affected personal and payment information. Although Kent Building Supplies itself does not store payment data, there is a possibility that sensitive information, such as names, email addresses, delivery and billing addresses, payment card numbers, and phone numbers provided during transactions, could have been accessed by unauthorized parties.

In response to the breach, Kent Building Supplies is offering affected customers free access to Equifax Complete Premier for one year. This service includes several key features designed to help customers monitor their credit and protect their personal information. The features include annual access to three-bureau credit reports, daily updates to Equifax credit reports, credit monitoring with email alerts for significant changes, and WebScan notifications for potential misuse of personal information. Additionally, the service provides identity restoration assistance, fraud alerts, and up to $1,000,000 in identity theft insurance coverage.

Kent Building Supplies is providing this free service to help mitigate the potential impact of the breach and to assist customers in monitoring and protecting their credit. The company encourages all affected individuals to take advantage of the Equifax Complete Premier offering by completing the online activation process. This proactive measure aims to safeguard customers against identity theft and credit fraud resulting from the incident.

The company remains committed to addressing the breach and enhancing its security measures to prevent future incidents. Kent Building Supplies apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and assures customers that it is taking all necessary steps to protect their personal information and support them through this process. The company’s dedication to data security remains a top priority, and it continues to work diligently to resolve the situation.
