K-FLEX Data Breach Exposes Personal Info

K-FLEX USA, LLC recently reported a data breach to the Attorney General of Maine, revealing that sensitive personal identifiable information might have been accessed. The breach was detected around November 14, 2023, prompting K-FLEX to initiate an investigation to understand the nature and scope of the incident. The company identified that an unauthorized individual had gained access to its systems, leading to the potential exposure of various personal details.

Following the breach, K-FLEX conducted a thorough review of the affected data, which included sensitive information such as names, Social Security numbers, and driver’s license or state identification card numbers. On July 12, 2024, the company completed its data review, assessing the extent of the exposure and identifying the impacted individuals. This review was crucial in determining the specific information compromised in the breach.

On July 30, 2024, K-FLEX began sending data breach notification letters to those affected, informing them about the incident and the types of sensitive information potentially exposed. In addition to providing details about the breach, K-FLEX is offering affected individuals 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services to help protect against potential misuse of their personal information.

K-FLEX, headquartered in Youngsville, North Carolina, is part of the IK Insulation Group, known for its flexible elastomeric foam insulation products. The company operates 12 production facilities worldwide and serves 43 countries with its thermal and acoustic insulation solutions. The breach has prompted K-FLEX to enhance its security measures and continue working with privacy and security experts to mitigate any future risks.
