JJE Capital Holdings, LLC recently informed the Attorney General of South Carolina about a data breach that compromised sensitive personal information within its systems. The company discovered the breach on February 22, 2024, when it was targeted in a ransomware attack. Upon detecting the incident, JJE Capital quickly launched an investigation to determine the extent of the damage and the nature of the data that had been accessed by the unauthorized actor.

Through its investigation, JJE Capital learned that the breach had potentially exposed personal information, including names, Social Security numbers, and driver’s license numbers. To address the situation, the company began a thorough review of the compromised data to determine which individuals had been affected. This review was completed on June 17, 2024, after which JJE Capital took steps to notify the impacted parties.

On August 5, 2024, JJE Capital began sending data breach notification letters to those affected, providing them with detailed information on the type of data compromised. In an effort to mitigate the potential risks to impacted individuals, the company offered 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services to help safeguard against identity theft or fraud. JJE Capital encouraged recipients to take advantage of these services to ensure their financial security.

JJE Capital Holdings, LLC, founded in 2016, is a private equity and acquisitions firm headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina. The company focuses on fostering growth for businesses and entrepreneurs with innovative ideas, aiming to build a diverse portfolio and provide long-term value for stakeholders.
