Jericho Security, a New York-based startup established in 2023, has successfully raised $3 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Era, a global investment firm. This funding initiative saw participation from notable entities including Alcove, Alumni Venture Group, Contrary, FoundersXFund, Lux Capital, MetaLabs, Textbook, Thorntree, and various angel investors.

The startup’s primary focus is to combat emerging threats stemming from generative AI, such as social engineering and phishing, by means of innovative employee training.

In response to the rising prevalence and sophistication of generative AI-powered attacks, exemplified by platforms like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google Bard, and Microsoft Bing Chat, Jericho Security leverages AI technology to create highly-realistic, personalized simulations and educational content. These resources empower organizations across sectors, including finance, healthcare, and government, to train their workforce effectively in defending against these evolving threats.

By harnessing advanced language processing, custom language models, and insights from the dark web, Jericho Security constructs tailored attack simulations and delivers targeted feedback along with comprehensive team-wide metrics.

Jericho Security’s proactive cybersecurity approach emphasizes equipping organizations with the necessary tools and skills to identify and thwart generative attacks before they lead to breaches. With its solution available for enterprises to purchase at a cost of $3 per user per month, the startup is taking a bold step towards bolstering cybersecurity defenses and enabling companies to stay ahead of the rapidly evolving threat landscape.

Sage Wohns, co-founder and CEO of Jericho Security, highlighted the significance of empowering companies to prevent attacks and underscored the critical role their platform plays in achieving this proactive cybersecurity paradigm.
