in Incidents

The IntelBroker hacker group has asserted responsibility for a notable cyberattack on a widely-used mobile banking app with over 10 million users, showcasing their proficiency in exploiting vulnerabilities. On a hacker forum, IntelBroker disclosed an exploit capable of extracting and leaking sensitive information from the banking app, including user full names, countries, and payment methods. The hacker demands payment exclusively in XMR (Monero) and presents visuals emphasizing the gravity of the exploit. While the specific target remains undisclosed, there are speculations, based on initial posts, pointing towards Nu Bank.

In a related incident from November 2023, IntelBroker, affiliated with the Cyber Niggers hacker group, claimed to have breached General Electric (GE), a multinational tech giant. The hacker group asserted access to confidential military projects and attempted to sell network access on a hacker forum for $500. The breach allegedly involves sensitive information related to the US government defense R&D agency, DARPA. GE, known for its contributions to aerospace technology, has initiated an investigation into the alleged data breach, confirming awareness of IntelBroker’s claims.

This incident highlights the persistent threats posed by the IntelBroker hacker group and affiliated entities like Cyber Niggers, showcasing their history of successful and high-profile attacks, including breaches at Weee! grocery service, the District of Columbia’s DC Health Link program, and the US Citizenship and Immigration Services. The cybercriminal organizations continue to pose significant risks to both financial and technological sectors, underscoring the ongoing challenges in securing sensitive data against sophisticated threats.
