How To Block Scam Calls – Tutorial

Here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to block scam calls, including all possible options depending on your carrier or through apps:

Carrier-based blocking:

a. Check with your carrier to see what options are available for you to block scam calls. Most carriers offer call blocking services.

b. T-Mobile: T-Mobile offers free scam call blocking through its Scam Shield program. To activate it, simply dial #662# from your T-Mobile phone.

c. Verizon: Verizon also offers free scam call blocking. To activate it, go to the Verizon Call Filter app and turn on “Block all spam calls.”

d. AT&T: AT&T offers a call blocking service called Call Protect. To activate it, download the Call Protect app from the App Store or Google Play and follow the prompts.

Third-party apps:

a. Truecaller: Truecaller is a popular app that helps you block scam calls. To use it, download the app from the App Store or Google Play and sign up for an account. Truecaller uses a database of known scam numbers to automatically block calls.

b. Hiya: Hiya is another app that can help you block scam calls. To use it, download the app from the App Store or Google Play and sign up for an account. Hiya also uses a database of known scam numbers to automatically block calls.

c. Nomorobo: Nomorobo is a paid service that can help you block scam calls. To use it, sign up for an account on the Nomorobo website and follow the prompts to set up call blocking.

Device-based blocking:

a. iPhone: To block a number on an iPhone, go to the Phone app, select the recent calls tab, and click on the info icon next to the number you want to block. Then scroll down and click “Block this Caller.”

b. Android: To block a number on an Android phone, go to the Phone app, select the number you want to block, and click on the three dots in the upper-right corner. Then select “Block number.”

Do Not Call Registry:

a. To register for the National Do Not Call Registry, visit donotcall.gov and follow the prompts to register your phone number. This will not block all scam calls, but it can help reduce the number of unwanted telemarketing calls you receive.

That’s it! With these methods, you can block scam calls and reduce the number of unwanted calls you receive. It’s important to stay vigilant and never engage with scammers on the phone, as they may try to steal your personal information.
