Hafetz Data Breach Exposes Personal Info

In 2023, Hafetz identified a significant data breach involving the unauthorized access of sensitive personal information. The breach was traced to multiple employee email accounts, which were compromised between July 24 and October 12. This unauthorized access potentially exposed sensitive data including names and Social Security numbers of individuals associated with the company.

In response to the breach, Hafetz has begun a comprehensive notification process to inform all individuals whose information might have been impacted. The company is actively working to address the situation by providing affected individuals with information on how to protect their personal data and mitigate potential risks associated with the breach.

Founded in 1986, Hafetz is an independent insurance agency based in Linwood, New Jersey. The agency specializes in a range of insurance products, including employee benefits, Medicare, and worksite products. Hafetz also offers life and disability insurance for both individuals and employer groups, and serves as a Master Broker for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. This affiliation enables Hafetz to create customized health insurance solutions tailored to its clients’ needs.

In addition to its headquarters in Linwood, Hafetz operates a second location in St. Petersburg, Florida. As a trusted provider in the insurance industry, Hafetz is committed to addressing the breach and ensuring that its clients’ insurance needs are managed with the utmost care. The company continues to work diligently to restore confidence and secure its systems against future incidents.
