Turke & Strauss LLP, a prominent data breach law firm, has launched an investigation into Grow Financial Federal Credit Union following a recent data breach incident. The breach involved the exposure of personal identifiable information belonging to more than 1,500 individuals. Grow Financial, a Florida-based credit union established in 1955, provides various financial products and services to businesses and individuals across West Central Florida and South Carolina.
The breach stemmed from Grow Financial’s former third-party legal service provider, Bowden Barlow Law, P.A., experiencing a data breach between November 17, 2023, and December 1, 2023. The unauthorized access to sensitive information, including names, Social Security numbers, financial account details, and addresses, prompted Grow Financial to initiate notifications to potentially impacted individuals starting March 11, 2024. Bowden Barlow’s investigation revealed that an unauthorized actor may have gained access to the sensitive data through one of its computer servers.
As Grow Financial takes steps to address the breach and mitigate potential risks, affected individuals are advised to monitor their financial accounts and take necessary precautions to safeguard their personal information. Turke & Strauss LLP remains dedicated to investigating the breach to ensure accountability and provide support to those affected by the incident.
