The BlackBasta ransomware group has claimed three new victims, including Graebener Bipolar Plate Technologies, NALS Apartment Homes, and Leonard’s Express. The dark web announcement, boldly titled “GO GRAEBENER,” reveals the severity of the situation. Graebener, a pioneer in manufacturing technologies for bipolar plates, plays a crucial role in the clean energy sector. Alongside them, NALS Apartment Homes and Leonard’s Express, real estate and transportation entities respectively, are grappling with the aftermath of the alleged ransomware attack.
Despite the gravity of the situation, the affected organizations have maintained silence, leaving the claims of the cyber threat actors unverified. This lack of official communication raises questions about the extent of the damage caused and the organizations’ readiness to handle the crisis. The BlackBasta ransomware group’s notorious history, as highlighted by recent research, underlines the urgency of addressing this cyber threat, with over $107 million amassed in ransom payments from more than 90 victims in the past year and a half.
