Fusion5 Acquires GoCloud Systems Expands IT

Australasian business solutions company Fusion5 has announced the acquisition of GoCloud Systems, a Wellington-based technology consulting and managed IT service provider. Formed in 2016, GoCloud specializes in IT strategy, cloud adoption, and managed IT services for the New Zealand Government, the not-for-profit sector, and small to medium businesses. Their services include procurement, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and support for platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.

The acquisition will significantly enhance Fusion5’s existing managed IT services and expand its Cloud, Infrastructure, and Security team across Australia and New Zealand to over 90 members. Richard Evans, Director of ERP at Fusion5, emphasized that customers will benefit from more localized support within their own time zones and an anticipated 12-hour business day support model. This expansion aims to offer improved services and faster response times.

GoCloud is known for its exclusive partnership with Tines, a SOAR platform that automates complex workflows. This partnership will be integrated into Fusion5’s broader offerings, leveraging GoCloud’s advanced skills in Microsoft Azure and AWS to benefit their customers. Despite its small size, GoCloud has achieved over 20 successful AWS customer launches, demonstrating its expertise and impact in the industry.

For GoCloud’s CEO David Brabant, the acquisition presents significant opportunities for both customers and employees. Customers will gain access to a larger team and a broader range of solutions from a single trusted partner. Employees will have the chance to develop their careers through exposure to new solutions and larger projects. The acquisition officially takes effect on 1 July 2024, with all 15 GoCloud staff joining the Fusion5 IT Managed Services team in Wellington.
