Front Door Agency recently informed affected individuals about a data breach involving its vendor, DonorPerfect. The breach, which occurred between November 25 and December 8, 2023, was perpetrated by the threat actor group known as “Glass Ceiling.” The attackers accessed and extracted sensitive information, including credit card numbers, which were subsequently posted for sale on the dark web.
As a result of the breach, individuals whose credit card numbers were compromised have been advised to take immediate action. Front Door Agency recommends enrolling in a credit protection program offered by DonorPerfect, which includes 12 months of identity and credit monitoring, a $1 million identity fraud reimbursement policy, and managed services in case of a compromise. Affected individuals can enroll in this program through the provided website or by calling the designated support number.
In addition to enrolling in the credit protection program, individuals are encouraged to monitor their credit card statements for any signs of fraudulent charges. If fraudulent activity is detected, it is recommended to alert the credit card company, request a reversal of the charges, and notify the company that the card number was involved in the breach. Even if no fraudulent charges are found, individuals should follow procedures to obtain a new card and number to prevent further risks.
Front Door Agency has also provided additional steps for those who feel the need for further protection. These measures include placing a freeze or lock on credit reports with the major credit bureaus to add an extra layer of security. This incident highlights the importance of vigilance and proactive measures in safeguarding personal financial information.
