Fortinet Acquires Lacework

Fortinet, a cybersecurity leader, has acquired Lacework, a cloud-native security platform, to bolster its comprehensive cybersecurity offerings. This strategic move aims to integrate Lacework’s advanced cloud security capabilities into Fortinet’s existing security platform, enhancing its Unified Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solution. By leveraging Lacework’s AI-powered cloud security platform, Fortinet seeks to provide customers with enhanced tools for identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating risks within their cloud infrastructure.

Lacework, founded in 2015, is known for pioneering cloud security solutions, utilizing machine learning and anomaly detection technologies to secure hybrid cloud environments. With nearly 1,000 customers, including industry leaders like Snowflake and LendingTree, Lacework’s platform offers end-to-end protection from code to the cloud. The acquisition is expected to close in the second half of the year, with Fortinet planning a seamless transition for Lacework’s customers and partners.

This acquisition reflects Fortinet’s commitment to delivering consistent security across on-premises and cloud environments, reinforcing its position as a leader in cybersecurity.
