Evergreen, a family of managed IT services and software companies, has acquired Microsoft partner Solution Systems, Inc. (SSI). SSI will join Evergreen’s ERP branch, Pine Services Group, to strengthen its position in the Microsoft Dynamics channel. Operating independently under Evergreen’s ‘forever hold’ model, SSI will benefit from access to a wider array of resources.
Founded in 2017 and based in San Francisco, Evergreen has completed over 80 IT services acquisitions globally. Evergreen focuses on acquiring and operating companies in the managed services sector without selling them, promoting sustainable growth and long-term investment. Solution Systems, Inc., established in 1979 and located in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, specializes in various Microsoft software solutions and has 35 employees.
The acquisition was driven by the alignment of values and culture between the companies. Katie Maley, M&A lead for Pine Services Group, and Jana Schmidt, CEO at Pine Services Group, both expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting SSI’s expertise in the Microsoft Dynamics Channel and their unique employee culture. David and Stu Zirin, founders of SSI, chose Evergreen to ensure the continuity of their business legacy and the well-being of their employees and customers.
David and Stu Zirin, who founded SSI 45 years ago, felt confident in Evergreen’s commitment to maintaining the company’s legacy and treating their employees and customers well. Despite the bittersweet decision to retire, they are assured that SSI is in good hands with Evergreen, which promised to uphold the business’s established infrastructure and values.
