DefectDojo, an Austin-based application security firm, has raised $7 million in a Series A funding round, led by Iolar Ventures and Aspenwood Ventures. The company specializes in providing an open-source platform aimed at enhancing and managing application security. DefectDojo’s platform automates workflows, integrates data from various security tools, and provides actionable insights to improve vulnerability management across organizations’ entire tech stack.
The platform offers comprehensive capabilities, helping users identify, track, and resolve security defects across builds, releases, repositories, and endpoints. With its unified command center, DevSecOps teams can automate key tasks like vulnerability triage, SLA management, and risk acceptance. This automation helps improve efficiency and reduce the manual burden on security teams.
DefectDojo’s open-source platform has gained wide adoption, with more than 38 million downloads and integrations with over 180 security tools. It is used by various industries, including banking, government agencies, and Fortune 10 companies. The platform is available in both a free open-source version and a Pro edition, which offers enterprise scalability and additional premium features.
The newly raised funds will be used to further innovation and product development, as well as to expand market reach.
